We started our hike with lots of enthusiasm. The wildflowers were amazing and the trail head was right at our campsite. It wasn’t a long hike but it got steep at the top. Real steep. Susan was a bit leary about it especially the descending part. But she did it and we enjoyed a snack and a long rest at the top before heading back down. By now Simon was very hot and tired and kept stopping in every shady spot he could find. When we got to the little stream near our campsite, he literally laid in the water like he was soaking for about five minutes. When he finally got out, we headed back to our site feeling pretty good that we “summited “ Rabbit Ears Peak!
